Rourkela: The Sundargarh district administration has decided to close the outpatient department (OPD) of Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) for three days from July 13 to July 15 after some patients tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter, the RGH Director said that the decision to close the general OPD was taken to avoid the spread of coronavirus in the hospital and several staffers were sent to quarantine.
However, emergency services for trauma patients and delivery cases will continue, the director informed. Besides, the flu clinic will also continue to function.
“All non-essential elective surgeries are postponed and patients advised not to come for routine OPD visits if it can be avoided or postponed,” the director said.
With one death and 209 recoveries, Sundargarh district has 449 active cases at present.
