Bhubaneswar: With the mercury soaring past 40 degree Celsius in the Odisha capital, the Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) will be welcoming the visitors at a new timing from Thursday.
The zoo will now remain open from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm.
Bhubaneswar was the hottest place in the country at 44.2 degree Celsius on Wednesday.

After remaining shut for around seven months due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Nandankanan Zoo opened its gates for visitors with adequate safety measures in October 2020. It has seen 8,20,484 visitors since then.
In 2019-20, the zoo saw a footfall of 26,00,295.
Similarly, 72,000 people visited Botanical garden in 2020-21 and 1,54,824 in 2019-20.
