New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday declined Punjab government’s request to open liquor shops in the state during the lockdown period.
The government banned the sale of liquor, tobacco, and gutka, among other products during the lockdown.
Despite the guidelines, the government received such a request from the Punjab government.
In Assam and Meghalaya, the liquor shops were allowed to function from March 25 to April 14 but were shut in Lockdown 2.0.
