Balasore: An opera party actor was reportedly beaten to death at Bhograi in Balasore district on Friday night. Police have detained two persons in this connection.
Sources said the deceased, Trilochan Ranjit (50), worked with Subhalaxmi Opera as a comedian. He hailed from Katisahi village near Baliapal in the district.
Sources said the incident took place when Trilochan was returning home around 11 pm on Friday. He had a heated argument with some customers at a market and it escalated into a scuffle.
Police said the exact cause of the actor’s death could only be ascertained after an autopsy.
