Bhubaneswar; Noted Opera scriptwriter Ananta Ojha passed away at a
private hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday evening. He was 59.
Ojha, who was suffering from mouth cancer, had undergone a surgery
earlier in 2013. But it failed to yield any result and he was again
admitted to the hospital after a gap of around two and a half month.
Odisha government had sanctioned an amount of Rs 1 lakh from the Chief
Minister’s Relief Fund for Ojha’s treatment.
The veteran writer, who hails from Kendrapara district, had scripted
more than 200 plays and directed most of them. Some of his prominent
plays are- Jianta Saba, Maichia Gokhei Sahu and Kanseikhana.

Baijayant Panda and many other personalities have expressed grief over
the death of Ojha.
