Jagatsinghpur/Kendrapada: After Bhadrak and Pipili, cobra hatchlings were spotted in Jagatsingpur and Kendrapada districts on Wednesday.
More than 10 cobra hatchlings were found in the house of one Kalpataru Nayak at Begunia village under Tirtol block in Jagatsinghpur district. Three of the five snakes were reportedly beaten to death by locals.
More cobra hatchlings are suspected to have been holed up in the house.
Likewise, as many as 20 cobra hatchlings were rescued from the house of one Ranjit Swain of Narilo village in Kendrapada district. Some locals found the cobras playing near the house and alerted Ranjit, who immediately informed snake helpline.
Suspecting more cobra hatchlings, a thorough search and digging of the mud wall of his house is underway.
On Tuesday, snake helpline members had rescued 12 Indian cobra hatchlings from the house of one Anadi Sahu of Suhagpur village in Pipili.
Recently, hundreds of snakes were also rescued from two separate places in Bhadrak district.
