Bhubaneswar: Altogether 82 children, including 21 girls, of Odisha were rescued from other states under the second phase of ‘Operation Paree-III’.
According to the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department, 20 children were rescued from Andhra Pradesh, 15 from Tamil Nadu, nine from Jharkhand, five from Maharashtra, 17 from West Bengal, eight from Chhattisgarh and four each from Telangana and New Delhi.
Eight teams comprising officers of Odisha Police and officials of WCD Department rescued these missing children from shelter homes, bus stations, railway stations and other areas and brought back to Odisha.
The rescued children were sent to various shelter homes after being produced before Child Welfare Committee.
