Operation Sindoor Still In Progress, Detailed Briefing Soon: IAF After Ceasefire

New Delhi: Amid mixed response to the ceasefire announcement, the India Air Force on Sunday asserted that ‘Operation Sindoor’, a counter-offensive launched in response to April 22 Pahalgam attack, is still in progress.

“Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information,” said a post on its official handle in X.

The IAF also mentions that the assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor was successfully executed with precision and professionalism. “Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with National Objectives,” it noted.

This came a day after the US took credit for having brokered a peace deal between India and Pakistan, following four days of military escalation, deadly cross-border drone attacks and missile strikes. However, it was short-lived as India reported ceasefire violations later in the evening, raising questions about Pakistan’s intentions.

In a late night address to the nation laced with bravado, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared the ceasefire understanding with India a “historic victory” for his nation while praising his military’s “professional and effective” response to what he described as Indian aggression.
