Bhubaneswar: With the cyclonic circulation now lying over north Odisha and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal & Jharkhand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued orange warning for heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore districts till Saturday morning.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Nabarangpur.
“The low pressure area over North Odisha & neighbourhood has become less marked. However, the cyclonic circulation now lies over north Odisha and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal & Jharkhand. The Monsoon Trough now passes through Ganganagar, Narnaul, Gwalior, Sidhi, Ambikapur, Jharsuguda and Chandbali,” according to the midday bulletin.
The intensity of rain in Odisha is likely to decrease slightly during the next two days.

The MeT office has issued orange warning for heavy to very heavy rain again from July 31.

Heavy rainfall also likely at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Nayagarh, Ganjam, Nabarangpur.
The weather agency has forecast light to moderate rain at most places across the state on these five days. It has also warned of temporary waterlogging in low-lying areas and landslides in vulnerable hilly regions.
