Bhubaneswar The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded orange warning for seven districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 3.40 pm on Friday.
Moderate rain/thundershower with lightning and one or two intense spells of rain may occur in some parts of Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Puri, Koraput and Malkangir within 3 hours.
Yellow warning of light rain accompanied by thunderstrom and lightning has also be issued for Kandhamal, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
