Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department has issued orange warning for 13 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 6 pm on Friday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning may affect some parts of Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Nayagarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Bargarh districts.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The weather agency has also issued yellow warning for heavy rain at one or two places in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts. Thunderstorm with lightning may also occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar, according to the midday bulletin.
