Bhubanewswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning about intense rain in eleven districts of Odisha by 1 pm on Saturday.
Issuing an orange warning, the IMD said eleven districts including state capital Bhubaneswar and the millennium city of Cuttack will be affected by light to moderate rain/thundershowers with one or two intense spells of rain during the next three hours.
The districts likely to be affected during the period are jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Puri, Khurda and Cuttack.
There is a possibility of water logging in low lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban centres. People have been advised to avoid movement in affected area and do arrangement for drainage of excess water.
