Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, issued an orange warning for heavy rainfall in three districts and thundershower in 18 districts of Odisha on Monday afternoon .
The Centre said there will be moderate rain and thundershowers with one or two spells of heavy rainfall in some parts of Cuttack, Jajpur and Dhenkanal districts.
Besides, there will be light to moderate rainfall and thundershower with lightning in some parts of the districts of Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Malkangiri, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati till 45.30 pm.
Due to waterlogging in the low-lying areas, poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban areas, people are requested to avoid movement in the affected areas and make arrangements for drainage of excess water.
Besides, they are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
