Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning of heavy rain and thundershower for 17 districts of Odisha by 11 pm on Wednesday.
The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued an orange warning for eight districts. It said moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spell of rain may affect Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir and Gajapati districts within the next three hours.
Water logging in low lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption are likely to be experienced in urban centres. People have been advised to avoid movement in affected areas and do arrangement for drainage of excess water.
Similarly, yellow warning was issued for nine districts – Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Sonepur and Kandhamal. Light to moderate rain/thundershower are likely to affect some parts of these districts of within next three hours.
