Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has rejected the petition of Balipatna block chairperson to stop the voting on no-confidence motion brought against her.
After hearing the petition of the block chairperson of Balipatna in Khurda district, Manisha Choudhury, Justice Biswajit Mohanty rejected it on Friday. Choudhury had filed the petition on August 25.
The trust vote will now be held on August 31 as announced by deputy collector of Bhubaneswar earlier.
The voting was scheduled to take place on August 17. But the deputy collector postponed it to August 31 as the official in charge of conducting the voting tested positive for COVID-19.
