Cuttack: The Orissa High Court will remain closed for Durga Puja from October 1 to 7.
According to a notification released by the High Court Registrar on Friday, urgent applications which cannot await the reopening of court will be filed before the Deputy Registrar (Judicial)/Officer-in-Charge between 11 am and 12 noon during the working days of Durga Puja holidays on October 1, 6 and 7.
The office of the High Court will remain open on October 6 and 7, added the notification.
Notably, cases filed on or after September 26 will be treated as urgent matters. Justice B R Sarangi will be the vacation judge during the puja holidays.
Justice S N Patra will hold the vacation court on October 6 and hear bail applications only in Khurda District Court. These bail applications have to be filed between 10 am and 11 am.
