Balasore: Thieves broke into a Jagannath temple in Soro area of Odisha’s Balasore district and decamped with ornaments and other valuables.
As per sources, the incident took place at the temple located at Champu village under the jurisdiction of Soro police station on Wednesday night.
The thieves made off with silver crowns of the sibling deities and a donation box. The flute of Radha Krishna idols was also stolen by the miscreants.
The burglary came to the light after the temple priest reached the shrine to perform morning rituals of the deities.
Thieves reportedly vandalised the temple before decamping with the valuable items of the temple, according to the complaint filed by the temple authorities with Soro police.
A police team visited the site and are launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
