Mumbai: There’s good news for AR Rahman fans. The Oscar winner will be composing the music of an upcoming film to be helmed by Raja Krishna Menon.
Titled ‘Pippa’, the war drama stars Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli.
Based on a book by veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, who fought during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, Pippa will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
“The story of Pippa has a very human connect. It’s about every family, and I instantly related with it. I am looking forward to working with Raja Krishna Menon, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur,” said Rahman, explaining his decision to take up the project.
“Patriotic and inspiring music has been AR Rahman’s forte… Collaborating with him has always resulted in spectacular albums and I’m inclined to believe that his music will be the beating heart of our film,” Screwvala.
This the fifth film in which Rahman is working on Screwvala and Roy Kapur’s production. The previous ones were Swades, Rang De Basanti, Jodhaa Akbar and Delhi-6.
