Oscars 2021 Likely To Be Postponed

Los Angeles: Oscars 2021 could be postponed due to the disruption caused by the coronavirus in Hollywood.

Reporting this on Tuesday, the trade publication, ‘Variety’  said the movie industry’s biggest night is currently scheduled for February 28, 2021. However, with theatres closed and shootings halted, the prize-giving Academy has already been forced to make significant rules changes.

Variety, quoting sources said it was now likely that the ceremony itself will be postponed. No formal proposals or detailed discussions have yet taken place over moving the event, or potential new dates, the report said.

However, there has been no official statement from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
