New York: Getting selected for the Oscars is the first step. Then comes its promotion to make everyone in the US aware of the film.
With ‘Laapataa Ladies’ being India’s official entry to the Oscars 2025, director Kiran Rao and producer Aamir Khan are going all out in their campaign.
Kiran and her former husband kicked off Oscars 2025 campaign for ‘Laapataa Ladies’ with a fun-and-food event in New York.
They chose acclaimed Indian chef Vikas Khanna’s restaurant called The Bungalow for the event, where a special screening of the film was organised.
Interestingly, Aamir and Kiran have changed the name of their film to ‘Lost Ladies’ to promote the film worldwide.
They took to Instagram to announce the name change through a new poster.
“The wait is over! Presenting the official poster for Lost Ladies — a glimpse into the wild, heartfelt journey of Phool and Jaya! Huge shoutout to @jahansinghbakshi and @apertureanecdotes for bringing our story to life with this stunning design. Get ready to be swept away!” read the caption.
Chef Khanna on Tuesday took to social media to share a glimpse of the special gathering at his reataurant.
“Jab dil se Dua atti hai, ‘Jeet lo duniya’. This is exactly what I felt yesterday when we were hosting Oscar Campaigning event of Lost Ladies (Laapataa Ladies) at Bungalow. Kiran you are a true artist to create such an iconic film,” the chef wrote.
Pictures of Aamir and Kiran savouring the cuisine at the restaurant have gone viral. Aamir was also seen chatting with a young chef named Mysha.
