Bengaluru: The 41st national convention of Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony here onTuesday night.
Sprinter Dutee Chand, Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani and hockey player SV Sunil were special guests on the occasion.
Odisha Sports Journalists Association (OSJA) bagged three awards this year.
In ten-pin bowling, a three-member group comprising Sambit Mohapatra, Sukesh Behera and Jagadiswar Das bagged the bronze medal. They lost to Bangalore Sports Journalists in the semi-final.
In three matches, the Odisha team scored 355, 355 and 334 to bag the bronze. Ten-pin bowling Indian Association’s vice-president Parvej Ahemad gave away the award.
Likewise, the team of Sambit Mohapatra, Sukesh Behera and Jagadiswar Das won the bronze in penalty kicks game. Pankaj Advani presented the award to the winners.
Besides, Sukesh Behera bagged Man of the Match award.
Many sport persons, who emerged winners in different contests in the last four days, were also felicitated.
Dutee Chand praised the sports journalists of Odisha.
OSJA secretary Sanatan Pani and vice-president Suresh Swain were also present at the convention.
