Bhubaneswar: Odisha Sports Journalists Association (OSJA) organised a special workshop on treatment of sports related injuries in Odisha capital on the occasion of World Sports Journalists Day on Saturday.
Eminent physiotherapist Dr Mukti Prasad Das, who is associated with various national hockey and football teams, demonstrated and spoke on treatment methods for immediate relief of the injured sportspersons at the workshop. Young sportspersons and sports teachers of different schools in Bhubaneswar participated in the event.
Speaking at the function organised at Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar to celebrate the day, legendary athlete of Odisha and silver medal winner of Asian Games Pranati Mishra said sportspersons and sports journalists are closely linked to each other. Both need each other for success in their respective fields, she added.
National cricket selector and first international cricketer from the state Debasish Mohanty said there is no short-cut to success in sports. One has to devote all his energy and focus on his favourite game to be successful, he added.
Chairman of Utkal Karate School Hari Prasad Pattnaik was felicitated at the function, which was presided by OSJA president Sandeep Mishra. Working president of the Association K Ravi and secretary Debi Prasanna Mohanty were also present. Several sportspersons and sports journalists also attended the event.
