OSOU Certificate Final For Basic Computer Proficiency In Odisha Govt Jobs

Bhubaneswar: The Board of Revenue has urged departments, Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs) and district collectors to guard against illegal issue of diploma certificates by unauthorised entities.

In a letter to the authorities concerned, the Board has requested them to accept the certificates of basic computer proficiency as certified by Odisha Knowledge Corporation Ltd (OKCL) for the purpose of eligibility in any recruitment conducted by state government, state-owned public sector undertakings and other government or semi-government agencies requiring qualification such as DCA/PGDCA from universities/AICTE recognised institutions/National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) “O” Level.

While OKCL provides the computer training to aspirants, it is the Odisha State Open University (OSOU) which issues the certificates for these courses.

The letter was issued after it came to the government’s notice that some NGOs, including unrecognised educational institutions, registered under the Society Registration Act 1860, are issuing illegal certificates like Diploma in Computer Application (DCA), PGDCA etc to students/trainees unauthorisedly without obtaining approval of AICTE/NCVT/universities etc.

All government departments, HODs, RDCs  and collectors have also been asked to advise the district agencies to act upon the certificates as per the notification vide E&IT Department.
