Bhubaneswar: There is no time or place for carnal desires. The abandoned buses littered with condoms stationed at the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus depot behind the Khandagiri-Dhauligiri hills here stand as evidence of the fact.
The busy area turns into a veritable red-light district as dusk draws near. According to sources, about three buses abandoned at the depot are currently being used for the sex trade.
As a result, locals find the area unsafe as it has also become a den for criminal activities even though police patrol vehicles are usually parked around the corners, added sources.
There has been a rise in cases of snatching mobile phones and other valuables.
“Currently, only tourist buses operate from the depot. In the evening, the area becomes completely deserted and anti-socials take advantage of it,” a police source told The New Indian Express.
