Malkangiri: The driver of an OSRTC bus was killed after collision with a pick-up van laden with iron rods in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Monday.
According to sources, the bus of Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) left MV 79 under Kalimela block in the district to go to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh in the evening.
While the bus was passing through a village in MPV 23 under the same block, the pick-up van collided with it. The driver of the bus was killed on the spot while that of the pickup van was seriously injured in the accident.
The locals informed the police and rushed the van driver to a hospital in Kalimela. His condition was stated to be critical.
A team from Kalimela police station went to the accident spot and started investigation.
