Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) opened its third ‘Nimantran’ restaurant in Sambalpur city on Monday.
Minister of Tourism Ashwini Kumar Patra inaugurated the Nimantran at the historic 17th-century Rani Bakhri, also known as the Queens Palace, in Sambalpur. OTDC Chairman Lenin Mohanty, Sambalpur Zilla Parishad president Kumodini Nayak, district collector Ananya Das, SMC Commissioner Vedbhushan and ADM Pradeep Kumar Sahu were present.
“The ambiance of the Queens Palace, coupled with the culinary excellence of Nimantran, promises a regal dining experience. The local cuisine helps a tourist get a sense of knowing the area and its people. The tourism and cuisines will get popular through the Nimantran,” said Lenin Mohanty.
The restaurants are managed by OTDC through a dedicated wing which serves a variety of authentic Odia cuisines from various districts. A special menu has been planned by prominent chefs to serve the taste of Odisha on the platters in the restaurants.
The third Nimantran, renowned for its exquisite dining experience, marks a significant expansion for the OTDC’s restaurant chain.
The first Nimantran restaurant was opened in Bhubaneswar in presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. It was followed by opening of second Nimantran in Puri.
