Bhubaneswar: This year’s sleeper hit, which was shot on a shoestring budget, ‘The Kashmir Files’ will start streaming on ZEE5 from May 13, director Vivek Agnihotri announced on Monday.
Agnihotri’s latest release, featuring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar in the lead roles, tells the story of religious persecution and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in the valleys in the early 1990s.
With a box-office gross of 330 crore, the films received mixed reviews from audiences and critics.
After the exceptional success of ‘The Kashmir Files’, Agnihotri has announced his upcoming film “Delhi Files”, which according to him will unveil many controversial ‘truths’ about the national capital while taking the audience through the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and Delhi riots in 2020.
“Delhi files will tell you lots of truth about Tamil Nadu also. It’s not about Delhi, it will show how Delhi has been destroying ‘Bharat’ for so many years,” he told ANI, adding, “…Who ruled the country in Delhi from Mughal kings to the British to modern times and how they destroyed everything.”
