OTT Release Likely For Saina Nehwal Biopic, Starring Parineeti Chopra

Mumbai: The much-awaited biopic on badminton star Saina Nehwal is likely to have an OTT release.

Titled ‘Saina’ and starring Parineeti Chopra in the lead role, the film was scheduled to release last summer but got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to reports, the film’s makers have begun discussions on its possible release and are learnt to go the digital way as theatres are currently being allowed to function at 50% capacity.

The Amole Gupte-directed film won’t be the first film to be released in digital space. The pandemic saw several movies going the OTT route, the latest being Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra’s The White Tiger and Kajol-starrer Tribhanga.
