Cuttack: The outdoor of the Sishu Bhawan, the premier pediatric hospital of Odisha, was closed on Monday after a child tested positive for COVID-19.
Talking to mediapersons, superintendent of the Sishu Bhawan, Dr Saroj Satpathy said the outdoor of the hospital will remain closed until further orders. However, emergency services will continue in the hospital (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics).
He said a child from Mutarifa panchayat of Salepur block in Cuttack district was brought to the outdoor of the hospital on July 3 for treatment. The hospital authorities had sent the swab of the child for the test and the report received on Sunday confirmed that the child is afflicted with COVID-19.
