Balasore: Over 10 tourists, hailing from West Bengal, were injured when the bus in which they were traveling collided with a dumper and veered into a roadside farmland near Nidhipanda on NH-60 in Odisha’s Balasore district in the early hours of Thursday.
According to sources, the accident took place when 65 tourists were returning to Bankura in neighbouring state after visiting Puri and the driver lost control over the bus due to a tyre burst. The vehicle then went careening into the farmland after hitting a dumper.
Though there was no casualty, around 10-12 people sustained minor injuries in the mishap. The injured were rescued by locals and rushed to district headquarters hospital for treatment. They were later discharged and sent home in an SUV, the sources added.
