Bhubaneswar: More than 10,000 rape cases and 5,000 cases of sexual assault on minor girls have been registered in Odisha between 2019 and 2022 so far.
Replying to a question from Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja in the Assembly on Monday, Minister of State for Home Tushar Kanti Behera said total 10,129 rape cases have been registered by police in the state between 2019 and 2022 so far.
It included 2,950 rape cases in 2019, 2,984 in 2020, 3,327 in 2021 and 868 in 2022, the minister said.
Besides, as many as 5,584 cases of sexual assault on minor girls have been filed across the state during the period, he added.
