Rourkela: Police have busted a racket of fake vehicle lubricant and arrested one person in this connection in Rourkela of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Plant Site police station in the city carried out raid on a house on Tuesday. The team found a manufacturing unit for production of fake engine oil in the house.
The house belonged to the racketeer, Taslim Arif of Raza Street under Plant Site police limits. During the raid, besides the manufacturing unit, the police seized 1227.5 litre of fake engine oil, 130 empty bottles with duplicate labels of popular brands, 1730 labels and caps, 1100 bottle caps of different companies and other incriminating materials.
The police have registered a case under different sections of the IPC and Trade Marks Act/Copy Right Act. Further investigation is on.
