Puri: At least 150 people fell sick in Odisha’s Puri district after having prasad during Durga puja celebrations on Saturday.
The incident has been reported from Otanga village in Gop block of Puri. The people were affected reportedly after consuming the Durga Ashtami prasad served at a pandal in the village.
Around 30 among the sick have been hospitalised while the rest are undergoing treatment at their homes, said sources.
The district administration, after learning about the matter dispatched a health team from the block headquarters to investigate and check the condition of affected people.
Following this, a team of doctors arrived at Otanga village today morning to monitor the situation. They have started a probe into the incident, sources added.
