Bhubaneswar: Daily COVID-19 positive cases jumped by over 32% in Odisha capital which registered 335 new patients in the last 24 hours compared to 255 cases on Thursday and 266 on Wednesday.
The new cases registered during the period included 89 from quarantine and 246 local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in a tweet.
Of the local contacts, maximum 18 cases were reported from Chandrasekharpur, followed by 14 each from Khandagiri and Old Town, 13 from Patia and 10 each from Jharpada, Laxmi Sagar, Nayapalli, and Unit VIII.
As many as 230 patients recovered from the disease while the number of the deceased went up to 866.
The city now has 2,711 active cases and total positive cases have gone up to 1,01,208, the BMC stated.
