Over 44,000 Students Skipped Matric Exams In Odisha In 2022, Says Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as 44,245 students did not appear at the annual Matric examinations in Odisha in 2022.

This was stated by School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash in the Assembly in reply to a question by Congress member Tara Prasad Bahinipati. The legislator had sought to know district-wise absence of the candidates in the examination and what steps the state government was taking in this regard.

Giving details of absent candidates, the Minister said highest 4,462 students skipped Class X Board examinations 2022 in Mayurbhanj district, followed by 3,273 students in Ganjam.

Dash also said the authorities concerned have been directed to probe the circumstances that led the students to skip the annual examinations.
