Over 50 Villagers Hospitalised After Taking Food At Marriage In Odisha’s Kendrapada

Kendrapada: More than 50 people fell ill after taking food in a marriage feast in a village in the district on Sunday.

According to sources, around 70 villagers of Nimpur had gone in a marriage procession to the bride’s house in village Teradgarh under Pattamundai block on Saturday night. They had taken food in the reception hosted by the bride’s family.

On Sunday morning, more than 50 villagers, who had participated in the marriage reception, complained of stomach ache and vomiting. They were admitted in Pattamundai sub-divisional hospital.

Two of the villagers were shifted to SCB Medical as their condition deteriorated while the condition of others was stable, Pattamundai hospital sources said.
