Over 50,000 Students Sang ‘Vande Utkal Janani’ At Children’s Fest In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: More than 50, 000 students from 1,000 schools of the
state sang the national song ‘Vande Utkal Janani’ during the children’s
festival organised by Siksha Vikash Sansthan at Baramunda Ground here
on Sunday.

Gracing the event as chief guest, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik
appreciated the initiative and said that such events will inculcate
the spirit of patriotism in students and youths. He also called upon
the students to work for the welfare and development of the society.

“We thank the organiser for making us feel proud about our country and
uniting us all through this event. The event will also spread
awareness about the sacrifices made by the great freedom fighters to
achieve independence”, Pratik, a student said.

Several cultural programmes including fancy dress competition were
organised with the participation of students and their teachers.

School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra, Food Supplies
and Consumer Welfare Minister Surya Narayan Patra, Member of
Parliament Prasanna Patsani were present on the occasion.
