Pur: The district administration has collected penalty from more than 700 persons for not using face masks in the last two days as part of its drive to enforce COVID-19 guidelines in the town.
Following statewide surge in COVID-19 positive cases, the administration has been enforcing the norms strictly in the Pilgrim Town. The police have been alerting the owners of the shops along the Bada Danda to ask the customers to follow the protocols like wearing face mask and maintaining social distance.
District SP K Vishal Singh has warned that anybody found flouting the norms will face heavy penalty.
Meanwhile, all is set for COVID test of the sevayats of Jagnnath Temple at Utkal Vidya Pitha, here from Friday. The families of the servitors will be given Homoeopathy medicine against the disease from Monday.
As part of the awareness drive of the administration, the Asha and Anganwadi workers will move door to door to make people aware of preventive measures. As many as 900 people belonging to sevayat families have been administered COVID-19 vaccine, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration sources said.
