Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday reviewed the preparations for Utkarsh Odisha -Make In Odisha Conclave 2025.
He visited the Janata Maidan, the venue of the conclave, in Bhubaneswar and took stock of the progress of the preparations.
Speaking to the media after the visit, the chief minister said the preparations were in final stage and the conclave would prove to be a historical one. “It will not only lay a foundation for a strong and vibrant economy of the state but also create vast opportunities for the farmers and labourers,” he added.
Stating that the government was taking all possible steps to put Odisha in top five states of the country in terms of economic growth, he said investment proposals worth over Rs 5 lakh crore were expected during the conclave. More than 100 MoUs would be signed to create opportunities for 3.5 lakh jobs.
More than 7,500 delegates have already registered in the Make In Odisha website to attend the conclave. They include 100 delegates from 20 foreign countries. Most of the foreign delegates are expected from partner countriesincluding Singapore, Australia and Malayasia.
While the conclave will be held on January 28 and 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate it. The Prime Minister will visit the state for fifth time in the last 7 months.
The chief minister was accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, chief secretary Manoj Ahuja and other senior officers during the visit.
