Bhubaneswar: The Centre has sanctioned Rs 885.58 crore under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme to Odisha during 2015-2020.
Besides, Rs 1,599 crore has been sanctioned for the state under the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP), said Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri for their commitment to develop cities in Odisha, Pradhan said of 191 projects sanctioned under the scheme, 152 have been completed and the rest are under progress.
The scheme has been implemented in Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Baripada, Balasore, Behrampur, Cuttack, Puri, Rourkela and Sambalpur.
Under the scheme, focus was given on development of basic infrastructure for water supply, sewerage and septage management, storm water drainage, green spaces and parks and non-motorized urban transport.
