Bijnor: Overwhelmed by the amount of money he and his accomplice acquired from the robbery they committed, a thief suffered heart attack!
The bizarre incident happened in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh.
The matter came to light after the partner-in-crime was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the theft they committed last month, IANS reported.
He confessed to the police about the crime during interrogation, and also revealed that his partner was so excited to find the huge amount of money, he had a cardiac arrest. A large part of the stolen money had to be spent on his treatment.
According to Bijnor SP Dharam Veer Singh, two thieves broke into a public service centre owned by Nawab Haider on the intervening night of February 16 and 17.
Haidar lodged a complaint stating that over Rs 7 lakh had been stolen from the centre.
After a probe lasting over a month, the police finally claimed to have cracked the case with the arrest of Naushad and Ejaz.
