Bhubaneswar: An air cargo from China carrying 1350 oxygen cylinders arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Sunday morning.
The Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council (WODC), Asit Tripathy, tweeted that this is the first time that China has sent oxygen cylinders to India for use in treating critical COVID-19 patients.
Tripathy said the state is going to receive the next consignment from China very soon.
He informed that the Odisha government is ensuring efficient distribution of oxygen cylinders to all medical institutions as well as developing an adequate reserve.
The Chief Minister has made it clear that no patient shall suffer for the want of oxygen, he said, adding that the state government has built a stock of 14,000 additional cylinders in the last two months.
