New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s population control pitch has found support from an unlikely quarter.
Senior Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram has lauded Modi’s vision and exhorted the citizens to welcome his initiative. Modi’s call for ban on single-use plastic and respect for wealth creators during his Independence Day speech has also been lauded by him.
In his tweets, Chidambaram said the PM’s concern over population growth and asking the nation to shun single-use plastic must become people’s movement.
