Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has decided to stage a demonstration in front of Parliament on January 8, demanding a hike in the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy, informed State Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena on Thursday.
The party MPs and MLAs along with Biju Krushak Janata Dal members will leave for New Delhi in a special train on January 5 evening for the demonstration, he added.
He also said that the party will submit a memorandum to the President Ram Nath Kovind in evening.
They are demanding a MSP of Rs 2,930 per quintal of paddy.
