New Delhi: The Padma awards ceremony, to be held on April 3, has been postponed in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The civil investiture ceremony was to be held at Darbar Hall, Rashtrapati Bhawan on April 3 for presenting the Padma awards.
However, in the view of the outbreak of the pandemic Covid-19, it was decided to postpone it as a precautionary measure until further order.
The next date and time of the ceremony will be intimated soon.
On Thursday, a Rashtrapati Bhavan press release said that the tour of Rashtrapati Bhavan will remain closed from Saturday.
“As a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19 novel coronavirus, the Rashtrapati Bhavan will remain closed for exploratory tour visits from tomorrow (March 13) till further notice. Moreover, the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex (RBMC)and the Change of Guard ceremony will not be open to the public till further notice,” the release read.
