New Delhi: A series of photographs, showing terrorist and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Saifullah Kasuri alias Khalid with a Pakistan Rangers officer (in uniform) has now gone viral.

Kasuri, a US-designated terrorist, is accused of orchestrating the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives in Jammu and Kashmir. The photographs have further established the links between Pakistan’s defence establishment and terror outfits like the LeT.

Kasuri is considered to be a trusted aide of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and is suspected of directing infiltration across the Line of Control (LoC). Officials say he operates from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and oversees modules of The Resistance Front (TRF), a LeT proxy active in the Valley.
Reports also suggest that Kasuri has been central to multiple cross-border operations and has featured in past dossiers shared with international agencies. In one undated video, he claimed that Kashmir would become the “Land of Pure” by 2026. His prominence within LeT has led to his name surfacing repeatedly in intelligence assessments linking him to high-profile attacks.

After India targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir during Operation Sindoor, similar photographs had surfaced on social media of a top LeT commander attending the funeral of slain terrorists with Pakistan Army officers.

The photographs were shared in a press briefing by India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

Pakistan has repeatedly said that its military has no links with terror outfits. Before international fora, the country claims that it is the victim of terrorism.
