Puri: It’s Pakhala Dibasa and a Sunday too. Taking the opportunity, a group of friends gathered to celebrate the day with a large assortment of non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes.
The youth organised a picnic in a forested patch at Narakheta village under Kanti panchayat in Pipili block of Puri district on Sunday.
Each one of them got down to preparing a dish to or two as an accompaniment for the flavoured watered-rice.
Talking about the preparations Subash Chandra Pradhan and Rajiv Khatei said they cooked the rice previous night and soaked it flavoured water.
The group enjoyed the day with fish, prawns and a variety of other side dishes.
