Panchayat Executive Officer Held For Misbehaving With Woman In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: A Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) was taken into custody by the police for allegedly misbehaving with a woman inside office in Odisha’s Balangir district.

As per preliminary information, the incident took place in the panchayat office in Saintala block of the district. The PEO has been identified as Akshaya Kumar Mohanty

Sources said Mohanty has been posted at Denga panchayat under Saintala block. He was initially detained after the victim’s husband lodged a complaint with the police in connection with the incident.

Police initiated a probe and subsequently arrested the PEO after examining CCTV footage and other aspects

Sarpanch Itishree Sahu reportedly said that the video footage was examined and the incident has been caught on camera.

Police said that based on the complaint, a thorough investigation was conducted and the PEO has been arrested.
