The SEC will discuss the holding of the panchayat polls with the parties amid the prevailing COVID-19 situation in Odisha, and seek their views and suggestions on how the polls can be conducted smoothly.
After Monday’s meeting, the SEC is likely to announce the dates for the panchayat elections soon.
Following a meeting of its top officials with State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi, the state government on Saturday announced its readiness to conduct the three-tier panchayat elections.
