Panchayat Staff Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances In Odisha’s Sambalpur; Family Alleges Murder

Sambalpur: The body of a Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) was found under mysterious circumstances in Rairakhol area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Dinabandhu Das, a GRS of Ghosaramal Panchayat. His body was spotted by locals. His motorcycle was also lying near the body along the Ghosaramal-Jhatakatimala road, sources said.

On being informed, police along with a scientific team rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident. Dog squad was also called as part of the probe.

However, family members and relatives of the GRS alleged that he was murdered. Stating that Dinabandhu had gone to Ghosaramal panchayat for GRS work, they said he did not return for a long time and efforts to contact him failed to yield any result.

Somebody has murdered Dinabandhu and the culprit should be arrested, they said.
